Acceptance

By accessing or using TechTown, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are using TechTown on behalf of someone else or an organization, you accept them on their behalf too.

The service

TechTown helps you diagnose and fix everyday problems with your devices through step-by-step guidance, and can connect you with a technician when a fix needs hands. TechTown is in early access: features may change, improve or occasionally misbehave while we get things right.

Following the steps

You stay in control of your devices. You decide whether to carry out each step, and you're responsible for the actions you take. Before any step that could affect your data, back it up — TechTown will remind you. Never open a device, work on mains electricity, or do anything that feels unsafe. TechTown is designed to stop and recommend a professional for anything like that, and so should you.

Technician services

When you book a technician, you'll see the price and what's included before you confirm. Visits and remote sessions are scheduled with your agreement, and a technician connects to your devices only when you invite them.

Your content

Your messages, photos and screenshots remain yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to process them to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please don't share other people's private information without their permission.

Your account

You're responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Acceptable use

• Don't use TechTown to break the law or infringe others' rights.
• Don't use it to get into devices or accounts that aren't yours to manage.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or abuse the service.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans bill monthly. You can cancel anytime with one click, effective immediately — no lock-ins, no retention calls. Technician bookings beyond what your plan includes are billed separately, at the price shown when you book. If we ever charge you and something went wrong, tell us and we'll make it right.

Intellectual property

TechTown and its software, branding and content are owned by us or our licensors. These terms don't grant you rights to our marks. Your content, as said above, stays yours.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is." Guidance can be incomplete or wrong, and we can't promise that every problem can be fixed, or fixed remotely. TechTown is not a substitute for your manufacturer's warranty service or for emergency services.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, TechTown is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including loss of data, arising from your use of the service. Keep backups of anything you'd hate to lose — it's good advice with or without us.

Termination

You can stop using TechTown at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll make a reasonable effort to let you know.
